CezveOnce, a Turkish sultan promised a price if someone were to invent a coffee making method that would not allow for a single drop of coffee to be spilt on the fire. One of the handymen brought a copper pot with a thick bottom and another handyman – a vessel with a narrow top and a wide bottom. The sultan ordered to join the two inventions. This is how a cezve came into being: a copper vessel with thick walls, long handle and a narrow head. It is also called a turka or a dalla. The whole Jardin collection ideally suits for preparation in a turka. Choose a fine grind in order to get a bright drink where coffee transfers its taste and aroma to the water.

Decaf coffeeIn 1903 a german Ludwig Rosemus transported sacks of coffee beans by sea. The ship was hit by a storm; the coffee was soaked in salty sea waters and lost its invigorating qualities. However, even without caffeine the beans turned out suitable for usage. Rosemus patented his method, which soon received the name of decaffeination.
